Fictional Roman City, 2024

Pen and ink
17“ x 33”

This drawing is of a fictional Roman city. All of the places have names that have been translated into Latin. The drawing includes several locations showing a full thriving city, including the public archives, a fort, government buildings, a Colosseum and an amphitheater. I tried to use my knowledge of buildings from antiquity to fill in this fictional city and make it seem more realistic. Some other buildings included in the drawing are the market, several monuments, public baths, and a church. The reverse side of the drawing shows elevations and cross sections of many of the buildings on the plan view.
